Leafy Day

Yesterday Jaxon walked outside and exclaimed "Mom! Today's a leafy day!"
I love fall. And please don't mind the fact that my son goes outside in ANY weather without shoes! It's just the way I was raised!

Pumpkin Patch

We went to Sauvy Island Pumpkin Patch on Saturday, and had a good time, despite the hail storm we got stuck in! Although once that hail storm ended, there was the most beautiful rainbow...sometimes Oregon weather is worth it! Last year was my very first experience at a pumpkin patch, having gown up in Utah, so I get just as excited as Jaxon trying to find the perfect pumpkin. Grandma and Grandpa were with us, as well as Jessica, Jarom, Mya, and MaKenzie. It was a fun memory to make.

I love this picture of Jake and Sage. They are my treasure at the end of the rainbow!

Emily fell in the mud, and Heidi and I keep telling her she had to keep crying until we got a picture! She promptly stopped when the photo shoot was over!

Bithday Cake!

I forgot to add a picture of the cake. I had sort of ran out of steam by the time I made it, but Jaxon loved it and that's what counts.

Jaxon's Shark Party

Here are some of the photos from Jaxon's birthday party. It was a shark party, and we had so much fun.

The kids wore shark fin hats and hunted fish (Sweetish fish) to the tune of Jaws, and then we had a 'feed the shark' bean bag toss, pin the tail on the shark, and decorated shark cupcakes. They all had a blast. And Heidi was there to help me out, so that was fun for me.

I LOVE birthday's, and my kids will forever be spoiled on their birthdays. And now our home is 15 sharks richer. Who knew there were so many shark toys out there. Then we had a family dinner and party that night, and I got to do it all over again! We had a great day, but I'll be honest...I'm glad it's over!

Happy Birthday Baby Boy!

Well, my little Jaxon had his 3rd Birthday. I can't believe that I have a 3 year old. When did I get so old? It seems like kids birthdays are a time for reflection, because I could not stop thinking about all that has happened in these past 3 years. I'm so grateful that the 18 hour labor only has to happen once! There are so many things I miss about my baby Jaxon, but so many more things that I love about him now. I took these pictures of him playing in the leaves on his 1st birthday, and on his 3rd, and he doesn't even seem like the same boy! But one thing has not changed one bit. He has a love for life that is unmatched. He is always up for any adventure, and is never happier than when he is out God's creations. We just went fishing today, in the rain, and he loved every minute of it. He loves Jake and I with such a pure and strong love, and he often tells me so in his sweet little voice. He keeps me so busy and sometimes drives me crazy, but I wouldn't want him anything different then the sweet, loving, crazy little kid that he is.
I love you Jaxon Jake Christensen.
Happy Birthday!

Super Why!

Latley Jaxon has been into a new show called Super Why. All the little characters on the show have super powers, the power to read, the power to spell, alphabet power, etc. Well, for this reason, Jaxon is always finding new super powers that he has. He just ran out of his room yelling the latest.

"Super Jaxon, with the power to make baby Sage dirty!"

Yep, that sounds about right.

Magical Horning's Hideout

If you've never been to Horning's Hideout, now is the time! Jake and I have found a little Idaho Oasis is Oregon. We just love it!

Fun in the Hot Tub!

They are keeping our hot tub open for the winter and we couldn't be happier about it! I'm going to make good use out if it. These first 5 pictures are funny because they are our attempt at getting Jaxon to look at the camera and smile for more than a half second.

He'd just right then looked away

So close
I can now see where he gets it! Just kidding Jake!
Here he just went under the water and is couging it all up. Crazy kid!

Me and the kiddies. Thanks to my new friend and cousin Jackie for inspiring me to take more pictures of myself and my kids.
Steamy!
Okay, now we are attempting a picture with all of us. I should have known it would never happen. This one has everyone but Jaxon...surpirse, surprise.
Now we're losing Sage.
Well, at least Jake and I look pretty!

So that's our fun in the hot tub. It really is nice to have something we can do as a family in the evenings that is free and makes the kids tired.

Photo Shoot With Mom!

I don't have any pictures with me and my kids, so we had a photo shoot today

Spider Update

The Bruno's came over last night for a field trip to my house to visit the spider, which I still haven't named, and what a field trip it was. Abbie had just finished reading a book about spiders, and taught me how to spell cephalothorax, we all had suckers, and we got to watch the spider eat dinner. I've taken to feeding it. (I know, it's sick and wrong) But I finally got a really good picture of the thing. For the two of you who read this blog, I promise the spider posts will end soon. Stick with me! Anyway, here's Abbie with it, and it feasting on a crane fly.

You know, I'm sure the fascination of it all will fade, and I'll loose interest, but for now, I LOVE TO BLOG! There, I've said it. For some reason it makes me more aware of all the fun things that really do happen in my life. I like to take pictures, to go with stories so I can post them and read them again and again. To me it seems like a guilty pleasure...isn't that strange? I keep telling myself that I will print out hard copies of my posts and keep them like a journal-because I am terrible at journal keeping-as a justification for my desire to blog. But you know what.....it's okay! Why not let this be my thing. Who cares if I post twice a day. And here's the other thing. I can't count how many times I've tried to start a scrapbook, but I'm terrible at it! Well, enter blog. It's like an automatic scrapbook, and it's FREE! Okay, now that I've bored you all with my justifications, I will begin another post. Thanks to the man or woman who created the blog!

Life's a bowl of cherries

We played Hi Ho Cherry-o as a family the other night, and Jaxon won 3 times in a row. It's cute hearing him try and count. 1...2...3...4...9! That's usually how it goes!

This is Jake doing some dental stuff at home. That's the best I can describe it. If you are at all interested in the going on's of dental school, take a look. Jaxon was loving helping his daddy with it. Looks like we've got two future dentists on our hands!

Quick funny story. I was making a cake for my niece the other day-when am I not making a cake-and Sage decided she wanted to help, as she often does. I'm busy working in the kitchen when I look down, and Sage is face down on the kitchen floor licking up some of the batter I had spilled. Literally face planted on the floor. When I picked her up she had chocolate all over her face. This picture was taken after I had already wiped some off. It was so funny. She's got a taste for chocolate at such a young age....a girl after my own heart.

My Heros!

Jake and Jaxon's Saturday morning fun! Jaxon is Superman and Jake is Batman. I swear he is the funnest Dad out there. And the best part is, he's having just as much fun as Jaxon. Those two are best buddies. I just love it.Who knew Jaxon could look so sweet. Too bad this pictures is not worth a thousand words. This picture is absolutly silent, whereas Jaxon uses far more than a thousand words every hour. This picture is worth no words, which makes it worth quite a lot!

Eensy Weensy Spider

So, I just have write a bit about our new 'pet'. I noticed this spider a few nights ago, late at night after Jake had done his usual routine of falling asleep on the couch, well I ransacked the Internet looking for what this could possible be, and if it would somehow kill my family in our sleep. In this search I can across many, many pictures of spider, which I can only assume is the reason for the nightmares I had that night. I won't go into detail of the nightmare, but Arachnophobia is childish in comparison. I sent Jake to dispose of it at 6:00 in the morning after waking up terrified, but alas, he flushed the wrong one. You can imagine my horror and disgust when I opened my front door and there it stood! Well, since then I've sort of gained a strange affection for it. I don't know what it is, but I just can fathom the idea of killing it. I know I'm crazy, but I think I'll be sad when he's gone. I just can't think of the right name for the thing. Any suggestions?
He's HUGE!!
