Let's be honest. Most nights I can't wait to get my kids in bed. It seems like 8:00 just can't come soon enough. But then there are nights - like tonight - when 9:30 seems to come too early. Tonight we watched lots of Dora. We played charades, which Jaxon was awesome at, he pantomimed brushing teeth, conducting, and playing Frisbee. Then we decided it was time we light off some of the fireworks we've had stashed in our closet. The kids were thrilled.
It was a fun night to be sure.
And now we're pumped for the 4th!
(and to ruin the "magic" a bit, it's now 10:00pm, and the kids are driving us crazy because they won't go to bed. Some things never change!) :)

Hi Steph! Can't wait to see you guys in a week. I know what you mean about wanting the kids to bed early, but as they get older, you realize that the child who wakes up in the morning is always a little different and a little older than the one you put to bed.
What fun! I love when things are just so happy and peaceful. It only happens once in a blue moon so might as well enjoy it!
Who doesn't love bed time? If only we got as much sleep as they did.
What can ya' say! You're just too dang fun! If I were your kid I wouldn't want to go to bed after a fun night like that.

Isn't it fun to just be random and spontaneous sometimes. Sometimes I say "lets go get ice cream before dinner" its the best! i love summer....but it does get annoying when you realize that you have TOTALLY messed up your kids sleep schedules and your own sanity time!
