There's something in the air

What's up with this day?

The morning started out great with reasons I'll keep to myself, then I got a coupon for a free movie rental in my email (sweet), then Jake comes home early, and I leave my babysitting responsibilities to him, then I go to the store and win a bag full of BBQ goodies and a $25 gift card to Albertsons from 105.1 the buzz, then I  go to the bank, and they are giving out doughnuts, and Capri Suns, and candy, all sorts of goodies, and now I'm home and it's only 2:30!  I should really go buy myself a lotto ticket, because my odds are looking pretty good right about now!

Why I love my job

Way back in January of 2005, I saw a cake in a magazine and thought, "I can do that!"  So I did.  For my sisters 28th birthday.  And thus began my love affair with cake decorating.  Since then I've made a lot of cakes.  In the beginning, I would just beg people to let me make a cake for them, but it's now become something that I actually get paid to do.

So as much as you think you love your job, I know it's nothing compared to spending the day making a pink and purple, Hannah Montana, bowling pin cake for a 6 year old little girl.

Seriously, I love my job.

While you were sleeping

The kiddos got into my Rolo stash while I was still asleep this morning.  There were wrappers everywhere and now there are only 3 left.  Oops!

It's no wonder Sage wasn't hungry for breakfast.

What if....

Sometimes I'll get to browsing blogs.  I'll find one about an amazing photographer, or an up and coming Broadway star, or someone who is way more fashionable than I'll ever be, and others who seem so much happier than me.  And I'll find myself wishing for something different than what I have been given in life.  I start wondering what if?  What if I had really tried to reach that goal of singing on Broadway?  What if I could dance?  What if I had a big beautiful home like so-and-so?  What if I could travel all over the world?  What if.....?

But it's not long before my feverish little boy calls for his mommy, or my sweet husband wants to show me a fly he has tied, or one of my amazing sisters calls just to chat, and immediately all those what if's melt away, and another set follows close behind....

what if I wasn't married to my husband who tells me I'm beautiful all the time, makes me laugh every day, and keeps me grounded?  What if I didn't have my two adorable children in my life? What if I couldn't hang out with my sisters and Dad at any given moment?  What if I wasn't  a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints?  What if any little piece of my life as it is was missing? What then?  And that's when I realize that I'm more than happy to leave those other lives to the people they belong to.  As for me....I'm happy right where I am! 009 (Sagie and me at the tulip festival)
