Excitement at church

Well, today was full of surprises!  As we hurried ourselves to get ready for church, Jaxon complained of a stomach ache (he called it a throat in his belly) and we passed it off as nothing.  We got to church just in time to sit in the very back (which turned our to be a blessing) and take the sacrament.  After we had been given the water, I ran out to throw away a banana peel and some uneaten string cheese from Sage.  On my way back in I heard what sounded like a water bottle being pored out, and a dear ward member had taken Sage from Jake and I thought it must have been Jaxon who spilled it.  The only problem with that scenario was that I had not brought a water bottle to church.  As I neared closer to the action at hand, I saw Jake carrying Jaxon out as he vomited on a nearby chair.

Now, I can not continue until I tell you about my deep and abiding fear of throw up.  This is not your average not liking vomit, this is more.  I can't hear it, smell it, or be around it without wanting to vomit myself, and rip all the skin off my body, throw it in the washing machine just to make sure I am rid of the foul substance.  It's an intense hate.

So Jake was gone, someone had taken Sage out, and I was left with a pile of bile (hehehe) all to myself.  I must thank dear Bridget for immediately lightening the mood.

"At least you'll have something good to blog about!"

Hence, this post.

Another kind soul was quick to help me, and before long it was cleaned up, and I was out the door to start a load of my tainted skin.

Poor Jaxon.  While I was gone he told Jake he had to go potty.  Just wait until mom get's back, he told him.  He asked again, and them lifted up his shirt to look at his stomach, and lost it all.  Afterwards in the bathroom Jaxon asked Jake, "What was that daddy??"  There is nothing worse than throwing up.  It's so unnatural!  So now he is sitting on the couch, playing nintendo, with blankets protecting my couch, and a bowl by his side.  I know everyone of you mothers out there have experienced this, but today is a first for me.

Wish me luck!

Sorry Steph! I have sooo been there! A couple weeks ago we were on the way to costco and Caitlyn very sweetly asked me for her bucket (that I had brought on "mother instinct"!) and then proceeded to puke in it! Its so sad when they are sick....and its horrible to be the mommy and know you are the one who gets to clean it up! Isn't being a mom the BEST! Love ya!

Oh, no! I HATE throwing up. Poor fellow, and poor Stephanie! I remember when I was littler, my mom had some kind of stomach bug, and it made me feel nauseous, too! I hope Jaxon feels better soon (and you, too!)

Aren't you glad you were on the gym floor and not the carpeted area? I'm sorry you had to deal with that. I hope Jaxon feels better soon.

I believe I have already mentioned to you my severe phobia of anything that has to do with vomitting. Surprisingly though, since God has blessed/cursed me with a daughter who throws up quite regularly (whether it be a cold, immunization, or long car ride) I have found my fear has dimmed, but only slightly. I hope I get over it someday, but I really don't think I will. Your description of how you felt when he threw up though was perfect. You nailed it!

oh wow! we missed all the excitement sitting up in the front! i had no idea you had gone through all that today! so sorry!

so far i have avoided the vomit in public places! it is a fear of mine, too! luckily my kids usually get sick in the middle of the night all over their beds! still not fun, but better than in church, or the store!

Oh no! I somehow didn't know about this vomiting phobia. I can't count the number of times Aliah has thrown up on me. It's the worst when it gets in my hair because it's so long. Are you sicked out enough yet? J/K. Feel better soon Jax!!!

I was wondering why Sarah S. had what looked like a broom from my seat out during the sacrament. Bummer. Poor guy! Hopefully it's short lived.

How horrible! I don't think I could have handled that. Hope it is just a one-time thing.

Thanks for all the great details. Nothing like hearing a vomiting story with all the gory details. Miss you!

Finally! I was wondering when you would get the lovely chance to experience. I'll start praying for you that my kids won't catch the bug while you are watching them. That would be bad news. Oh, and thanks a ton for helping out at home. You have no idea what that means to me. I love you!

Your blog timing was perfect, I had just finished doting over Kelsey's newest blog of her adorable Inara then to yours. Here I was thinking I was in for it by "now" wanting children...... vomit blog later, I think I can wait a little longer. *winks*

I'm totally with you on the vomit. It is not fun! Luckily Trey is more of a nose bleed boy. Still not fun to deal with but way better than him yacking all over. Hopefully Jaxon is ok and you don't have to deal with 2 sick children!

Isn't being a mom just one exciting event after another? (Granted some not pleasant events, but I bet you wern't planning on a throw-up at church.)

Hope Jaxon feels better.

I'm with ya. I've thrown up, like, 8 times in the last 24 hours. Finally feeling better. Not "well" but better.

I was so impressed at how quiet and quick and how many people came to help out. At least you were on the wood floors. We have all had our moments and you held it together really well. Now you can look back and laugh about it. I am glad to see he is feeling better.
