COUSINS

It has been the greatest experience living near my sisters these past two years.  I remember when Jake wasn't sure where he would get accepted to Dental school, Heidi and I would talk forever on the phone about how much fun it would be to live close to each other.  Family dinners, free babysitters, lots of treats, game nights, the works!  And it has been better than we could have dreamed up.  One of my favorite parts is that Jaxon and Sage have cousins so close that they get to play with and love.  And I have loved being a big part of my nephew and nieces life.  I remember being best friends with my cousins when I was a kid, and I also remember the deep love I had, and still have, for my Aunts.  I'm thrilled that I get to give the same experience to my children.  I am grateful for Heavenly Fathers plan of eternal families, because I couldn't imagine living for eternity without these kiddos hanging around.

This post reminded me of home. I miss living next to family and feel sad that my kids don't get to know the joy of having cousins around. I too grew up around family and loved every minute of it. Thanks for the fun picture and the memories. :)

I love cousins. For me they have made my life so much more fuller than I ever could imagine.

I love that Aliah has cousins around too. And she has a lot (19 and 2 on the way so far.) because we both come from big families that all live here! I also really want my kids to think your kids are their family. That's how I grew up. I was much closer to my fake cousins (my parents best friends) then any of my real cousins.

Hi Stephanie!

After mentioning blogs, I had to find yours! Your blog makes me a little hungry and you have cute kids. This is Melissa, by the way, don't be fooled by my childhood nickname.

What a happy post. I wish I had seen it as soon as you wrote it. I can't even think about when you leave us for good. Live one day at a time, like you say, and savor the moment. LOVE the picture!

Aren't they all so sweet? Conner espcially looks like an angel with his hands like that... I dream of a day when I do not live close to family. The drama gets overbearing at times. But, I don't think I will ever move because my kids love their cousins. These relationships will last forever if they are cultivated early.
